Dr Matt Silsby (JP, BMedSc, MBBS(Hons), PhD, FRACP) is a specialist Neurologist and Neurophysiologist.

He completed medical school at Sydney University and graduated with Honours. His training in Neurology was completed at Concord, Royal Prince Alfred, and Westmead Hospitals where he received training from highly regarded neurologists in their respective fields.

Dr Silsby is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and holds professional membership with the Australia and New Zealand Associations of Neurologists (ANZAN). He is currently a Staff Specialist Neurologist at Westmead Hospital where he is also the Director of Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Services.

His PhD evaluated movement disorders (such as tremor) associated with demyelinating neuropathies. He is active in clinical research including in the areas of neurophysiology techniques and neuropathies, and is the Principal Investigator for the Amyloidosis Clinical Trials Unit at Westmead Hospital.

Dr Silsby is committed to the ongoing education of neurologists and healthcare professionals. He coordinates a unit of study at Sydney University in the Master of Medicine (Clinical Neurophysiology) degree. He was a co-founder of the Neuromuscular Society of Australia and New Zealand (NMSANZ), dedicated to improving the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular disorders.

When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his three kids, going for runs around the local running tracks, and playing and watching soccer.
